...As you can likely imagine, when I grew up, my reading materials were typically those of the library in Flamechurch; that is to say, they were typically of the Sacred Flame's doctrine. It isn't to say that the Pontiff ever limited our reading, per se - rather, that there was a lack of options.

[ the copy of himself had said it. it started with roi. he's on his mind, and it feels like a bramble, like thorns that dig into his chest, that wind up in his throat. it's impossible, to think about the serious weight of the simple phrase, of the grief that temenos has never once touched upon, never allowed himself to think about for more than a day.

...I visited Montwise once or twice before I was an adult; there is a cleric's guild just outside of the city. When we were young, a dear friend of mine and myself spent much of our teen years studying there as we worked to become clerics. But, we would visit the libraries and take out books of a more secular nature along with our scriptures.
