I'm upset that an innocent person- and one of the few people to actually talk to me- ended up dead because of this.
If it was a self-defense kill, then everyone should have talked about it and decided what to do. Not collectively vote a random person not related to it.
It's good that you can. I'm not a very understanding person, so I'll leave that to you.
[They can give some actual advice for the last bit though.]
Double-up on checks. It's far too easy for someone to "overlook" something if they're trying to avoid seeing the truth.
Also, if there is a small group of people under the most suspicion- five or less is good for this- redo any checks they made, and don't allow them to make further checks.
Finally, keep track of who is close to who. If Ryuki were in that "most suspicious" group, for example, I would not trust you for unbiased opinions or checks.
there’s already so much happening when we get to that point. but… hans had a knife in his sleeve the whole time, so maybe we need to be stricter about pat downs. if someone’s hiding something, then… just asking doesn’t mean they have to show us anything.
that’s… not a narrow list. there’s a whole group of people who experienced the ride or die wonders of jail together. [ and, well. she cares about a lot of those people too. ]
it’s going to be that balance of knowing something will hurt, and knowing it’s wrong, but knowing the alternative is worse. this isn’t a popularity contest. it’s the law.
trying to save someone who shouldn’t have died would be a pretty impressive bonding moment. at the very least, it gives you an idea of who shares similar values to you.
[They are going to be bitter about Hans' death for a while. But they do like Tama, so they will try to help her.]
I don't know if you have seen it yet, but people have been collecting the pages everyone has been finding. I think those are going to be the key to finding out what to do.

It's a bit foolish to trust someone based on one shared experience.
And it sounds like it's already become a problem at least once.

[ concerningly she's... not sure if they can. she's sure a number of people here would protect a loved one over anything else.
...
she can understand that. she really can. ]

Talk with everyone and find out what you can.

yeah, they're making the rounds. not that we know where they came from or really what to do with them
it's still ... something.

I'm not sure where they came from, but the paper these notes are written on is consistent with the paper we found a month before all of you arrived.
It's got to mean something.

before….? so you were finding notes before all these changes and us arriving?
