he chuckles a little, sitting back in his chair and nodding. that sounds so fun! but! temenos tilts his head, back and forth. ] Mmm. Well... what do you think the duties of a cleric might be?

I'm not religious myself. Assisting the ailing?

Sometimes, though that usually falls in line with apothecaries.

[ temenos is a healer but he will not heal you if you're a dumbass and this is a fact of life

I do your more standard duties of the church; guide lost lambs onto the proverbial path, give sermons, teach Sunday school and scripture here and there, but, I am no standard cleric. Rather, as you style yourself an investigator, I'm an Inquisitor.

I see. Skills like that serve people well in all sorts of situations. Did something push you on the path of becoming an Inquisitor or was it a calling for you?

Hmm. I wouldn't say it was a push, but perhaps a bit of both. I was chosen for the position by the Pontiff a few years ago.

Above all, my interest as the inquisitor lies in finding the truth.

How often are you able to find it?

I find that finding the truth often leads to uncovering many more questions. Pulling a single thread never unravels the entire tapestry.

I've a feeling we might have quite a bit in common, by title alone.

What brought you to becoming an investigator?

Hmm... It's something I'm used to doing.

Finding the truth and looking for answers, essentially.

Then, I imagine on that matter among others, we'll get along quite well.

You know, my dear assistant is an amethyst snake of her own. She often tells me it's quite difficult to work with a detective.

It seems to be going well so far.

Is that so? Are you prying into her private life, or is it something else she finds disagreeable?

You could not pry into her private life with a crowbar and a skeleton key. [ the most private girl in the entire world! ] But, I'm not sure what entirely she thinks is difficult, to be quite honest. I think her methodology and mine tend to be different.

[ actually it's because he just uses her skills to make her do the dirty work but thats besides the point ]

Different methods to pick the same lock? Or something along those lines?

That is an excellent way to put it. Though, no one could pick a lock better than Throné.

[ a beat. ] Or a pocket, for that matter.

Though, I could say the same for you, at least in this regard. Your fellow team leads are quite interesting, themselves, no?

That's true.

[ They tilt their head slightly, covering their mouth with a fist. ]

They're an interesting group. Who have you spoken to so far?

I've had the most conversations with Yellow Rabbit, and yourself.

[ he notices that covered mouth and says nothing, though temenos smiles a little further. ]

But, I've observed the rest here and there. You've worked together for a few months now, no? What's your take on your intrepid fellow heroes? Color me curious.

Two so far. Thinking about collecting the full set?

[ They don't really seem to mean anything by it, their hand drops into a gesture as they go through the list. ]

Aquamarine Fox is the friendliest. Emerald Goat is interesting, and they rather enjoy stories. Gold Mouse gets their work done, but they have their own pace. Cobalt Ox acts quickly. Yellow Rabbit is a good friend, along with Crimson Phoenix. White Tiger tends to keep to themselves.

Would you be surprised to hear that I am, investigator?

[ gotta know all the things! sometimes curiosity is just in your blood.

he listens to all of these very thoughtfully, humming over his tea. ]

I see, I see... I think it makes sense, in the context of those of us and their teams, for the most part. [ heh. ] Who do you think I should chat with next?

Fox is a solid next step. They'll likely have plenty to say about the others.
