... I use mine weekly, but it is passive - I don't have to do anything to make it happen. [ rolling in my sugar daddy money as usual. ] But the others... I don't think they do so often, if at all.
[ ... ]
We received a bit of intel that suggests that the more you all share your powers, the weaker it makes you all - the wording, I believe, was 'stretched thin'. Could that be why the others are having so much trouble?
[ She is quiet for a moment, before she pulls out a stick with her free hand. Just holding it out.
It takes a moment or two before it finally shifts into a sword. ]
Our dear Snake is struggling because they are using their abilities else where. You could ask them the full extent of it. [ That isn't Wang Wu's to share. ]
We are all struggling, dearest. I am just one of the lucky few who has an ability that isn't so obvious. [ She will give him that much. Watching the sword shift back into a stick. ] I do not know if matters if you all are actively using it or not.
[ he watches this happen, frowning. this is what he was wondering - rabbit can hide it better, and he was right. of course she can. ]
The note said something along the lines of the fact that your power is waning the closer we get to the full moon. And as you share it, it gets worse. Perhaps you should consider not sharing it.
[ Rabbit is used to hiding things, so it's only fitting that her power would also follow the same thing. ]
Then you all wouldn't be my little rabbits. [ She smiles at that, her tone going light again before she goes serious once more. ] There isn't a way to take it back, dearest. Once you have all arrived and were placed under our care, our powers were yours for the taking. There isn't really an off for it.
[ He is right, she doesn't like it, but she also expected it because it's him. ]
I doubt it would. I feel as if the only way to end it is to play along with these stupid rules until he shows himself. Then we can end it all once and for all. [ Another pause ] Besides, I would be quite sad without my bunnies.
[ there's a light scoff. ] You know as well as I do that being united under a team banner makes no difference.
[ that was something temenos said to rabbit eons ago, nearly the first week here. but, this time, it's in a much different context - it's saying we don't have to be yours, to be yours. at this point, rabbit has earned temenos's friendship, and to a maybe more important degree, his trust: no team banner is required. ]
Between that note and the letter to the editor in the paper, it feels rather as if we're being pulled in two directions.
The one from Friday's edition. Hold on - I spent some time decoding it on Friday.
[ I only had one case to gather details for, after all.
he frees up his other hand to dig around in his pockets, and pulls out his notebook, then flips the pages to open to one full of letters in his neat handwriting. steals this directly from a tag i wrote already:

and underneath, rabbit can see a variety of different written out variations of the alphabet, with notes and patterns and then some of temenos's own decoding in his neat handwriting:
and so on, and so forth. and then, at the bottom of the page:
Heroes sacrifice ability leave competition control destiny animals winning murder the trust the public has in them and each other the more the better ]
To me, it reads as if heroes sacrifice their abilities, they can leave the competition. After all, with no powers, why would we be 'competing'? I'd thought it split into two phrases, with the split falling at before the word "murder".
We are constantly inundated with the message of betraying our trust in each other throughout this process, as well: that messaging isn't unfamiliar.
While I can not speak for the dead, I do find it strange they would refer to you all as heroes. I do wonder if that is what they are trying to say or if it's something else entirely.
Wasn't there something about how we all would be reborn in this world if we died? While I wouldn't mind writing an AU with you all, I would rather keep my memories, dearest.
[ Reaching up to pat his cheek. Sometimes you wait a hundred years for someone who will never come home and have a lot of thoughts on keeping that memory. Don't worry about it. ]
Wouldn't the same thing happen on the path we're currently on? We are losing our powers more and more as the full moon approaches.
[ This also leaves a bitter taste in her mouth. ] I can talk to the others about it to see what they think. [ Another pause ] After this weekend. [ Their thoughts go to Crimson Phoenix. ] You all seem to really want to put me in quite the awkward position...
[ she's valid. he would be equally horrified to give up his memories - thus he's easy to move the conversation on, and gives her a little bit of a smile, though it's rueful, almost apologetic. ]
It would, and I imagine that doing so early would be pointless. Considering the information that we have, Fox still needs to make their kill. If we summon the 'moon' out of hiding before then, I worry that we will be ill prepared for it. So - perhaps you can save your awkward positioning for a week from now.
[ though he still expects her to do it. thanks rabbit you're a pal. ♥! awkwardness delayed! ]
'Control destiny animals winning' stands out to me as odd, too.
On the contrary, they very much won't. Even if that would make things easier. No, things are awkward for more than just my sword killing someone from their team. [ They are going to reach up to cover Temenos' eyes. Do not see her thoughts! ]
Someone thought fit to make us in love with one another for a day.
[ is she still holding onto his arm? because he pulls it in tighter. no escaping. ]
Don't try and wriggle away from a problem because I don't have your point of view, squirmy little rabbit. [ not today ] I was hit with the very same curse, last week, so it isn't as if I'm unfamiliar.

What meaning are you taking with these words?

[ he doesn't know what that is and will never know ]
I'm only kidding, at any rate. I assumed 'heroes' here moreso referred to you all - the leaders. That perhaps you may have to give up your abilities.
Would the logic then follow the same? That perhaps if you no longer had your abilities to share, the need for a team competition would be moot.
no subject

I doubt I can. Our pretty bird isn't one to leave things as they are, especially after certain things that have happened.

Control destiny animals winning. It may have to do with the teams that are winning.
