Yeah. I mean, it's not like I worked alone or anything. But there were just three of us. We talked about things and made a decision together.

...what kind of stuff were you working on with that other team? What sort of decisions?

Like, how to save people and stuff. We had powers, and we wanted to do good with them.

Hopefully that means it's easier to use your power here than not. Six months isn't that long when you think about it, but prior experience would be useful. But I guess "fate detection" can mean a few things.

What do you think 'fate detection' means?

If I had to guess, it sort of sounds like a power of prophecy. Being able to see a person's fate, even if fragmented.

What made you think of it?

Our friend's the Oracle of Delphi. Prophecies and seeing people's fate are sort of her thing right now.

The Oracle of Delphi? What's that?

Who, technically. The Oracle is someone who's the speaker of Apollo's prophecies. It's a spirit that passes from maiden to maiden, should they make the vow to Apollo. Rachel's the current one.

[They go quiet for a moment while they listen. It takes a few moments before they're able to respond, and they sound a little unsure as they speak next.]

That's...real, where you're from? Apollo and his prophecies, and the other gods too?

Oh, yeah. [ he. immediately feels like this is a bad reaction, so he's careful in what he says. ] They're very much real back home. But I know they aren't in other worlds. Or they're just myths.

[It's not a bad reaction, exactly. It's more stunned.]

They're just myths in my world, yeah. I never thought gods could actually be real...

Even where we're from, people think they're myths because not everyone can see them or the power they still have over civilization. But there're special people who can see through it and recognize what's real.

I guess it does sound fantastical, I don't blame people for not believing it. How do you know about it though? Are you one of those special people?

[ at this point, several of the other leaders know and he figures if this does go poorly he can go bother them. ]

Apollo's Will's dad, for one thing. [ he could stand to just say yes, but he is blunt sometimes in making his point. ]
