[ They're listening intently as Nico talks about the afterlife he's aware of. ] The Greek afterlife, then? If they forget who they are do they just stay there and become increasingly lost?
[ They consider this. ] He seems like the type who would be verbose, even as a prinny.
I wasn't sure how familiar you may be. Some of you are and some of you aren't. But yeah that's...about right. The field's usually pretty full because so many of them are listless and stand around aimlessly. [ that aside, there's a tiny grin. ] Maybe we should be glad we'll never have to see a prinny Argalia. Or...any more prinnies than we already have. It seems like everybody already has their hands full.
I think it's a little more interesting for me to hear about the worlds were they aren't. But...guess I can see why the reverse would be true, too.
[ the prinnies truly are doing their best, and he grins a little. ] I'm surprised the citizens of Oceanside don't think they're strange at all. Everyone's sort of accepting of all of these things happening around them.
That's just another thing that's been bothering me. The lack of information about this city's history...like someone went through and wiped everything out. Maybe the prinnies were brought in to assist the villains instead if they came when you guys did.
[ he does not seem to mean it, but he also is still vaguely working under the idea the prinnies are spying on them, so. ]
To be fair, they're, like, three feet tall and have flippers for hands. I think villainy might be hard, but the grunt work's a possibility. [ still... ] Where do you think they went? They had to have existed if the paper's been long established before us, right?
Oh, you've heard about that. [ that's good. that's one less thing to bring up on his own in an awkward segue. ] Rabbit told me you might have a copy of a paper you guys found before. From your moon mission. Does it compare to what we've found recently?
Unsurprising. [ don't sound fond about it, idiot. ] ...if you'd be open to it, yes. I'd like to take a look for comparison. Maybe it'll give us an idea of what to expect next.
[ up! he is up and immediately bounding after them. me almost gendering this npc. anyway he kind of makes a face at that, but it's fine. ]
I know I could just ask him myself, but I have a feeling he'd just tell me to come back and talk to you myself anyway. [ a pause. ] Besides, I have been meaning to speak with all of you sooner or later. There's just been...a lot happening lately.
I don't mind the company. You've had a busier time than most.
[ It's not getting better this week either!
Up the elevator and going to the third floor.
The elevator opens up to the kitchen, sleek and modern, fully stocked. The appliances are plugged in and available for use. It looks cluttered and lived in already. Beside it is a luxurious and cozy living room with plenty of seating. Once again, there are several cardboard boxes shoved up under the table and against the wall. A spiral staircase leads up to the other floors. ]
[ there's a hum of agreement that he won't verbalize. also yeah. it's not getting better! it's fine! he follows them up in the elevator and when they enter the new floor he politely steps out and nods. he can wait!
...granted while they're upstairs he does kind of glance around to get a sense of what's going on in snake dorm. it doesn't look bad, actually. he is eyeing the cardboard boxes though, glancing to see if he can identify them.
he could stand to sit down and wait, but no, snake will find him standing in nearly the same spot when they return. ]
It doesn't actually take them very long to retrieve what they have.
They come back with a white page with handwritten lettering. Nico will be able to note that both paper and handwriting are a match to what he's seen. ]
12 was too few.
This time the world will gain 35 new heroes. They shall be sorted into teams and made to compete for the chance of returning back to where they came from. Once they arrive, they'll be granted eight weeks of competition.

[ That gets a little laugh out of them. ] There's definitely enough prinnies around.

They've been here as long as we have, so I assume they've acclimated?
no subject
[ ...huh. ]
Do you know if the prinnies were here before you? Or did they arrive at the same time as you guys?
no subject
[ Thoughtful. ]
I can't say for certain. It's difficult to look up the history of the city. I think it was around the same time as us?

If they're meant for villainy... I've never caught them doing any crimes.
[ They can imagine what the prinnies would say, "Dood! I'm trying to pay off my sins, dood!" ]
I haven't seen any papers from the time period before you arrived either. I'm sure they used to exist.

[ Hm, as they consider. ]
They could've been dispersed elsewhere. Like the way you managed to find pages outside of the city?

Rabbit is correct. Would you like to see it? From my comparison, they looked like the same type of paper and handwriting.

[ They were kind of hoping it wouldn't be real.
But here they all are. ]
I know it isn't much to work with.

No, it's okay. It at least gives us an idea...how long ago did you guys find this?

[ Hm. ] It was found in the aftermath of the moon drop. It feels connected but I don't have all the pieces.
