...so... I know this is kind of out of the blue, but Fox mentioned something about a page from a book you guys found? Nico and Hung found some notes and shared them with us and it wouldn't surprsie me if someone's already shared them with you, but now I'm kind of curious if it seems like they came from the same place. Mind if we compare them? I've got the text of them saved on my phone.
[ It's a bit of a walk back even with the SUPER but they don't seem to mind.
Cutting ahead, they'll go into the kitchen, leave Will there to go somewhere, and then pop back with a page of their own. A white page with handwritten lettering: ]
12 was too few.
This time the world will gain 35 new heroes. They shall be sorted into teams and made to compete for the chance of returning back to where they came from. Once they arrive, they'll be granted eight weeks of competition.
[while snake is getting the page, will pulls up the pictures of the notes from nico and hung on his phone - and when they return, he'll exchange his phone for the piece of paper with them.
the first picture reads:
The stakes so far have been too boring. It’s no fun when all they do at the end of the day is go home, so for the next round, we’ll spice it up a bit. If they want a chance for anyone to return at all, they’ll have to take that chance from someone else.
One death each week is enough to keep the door open. Kill, or lose everything any of them have cared about. Let’s see how heroic they can be in those conditions.
and the second reads:
These heroes are unable to return to the worlds they call home while they have yet to win their competition. If a team loses, all those within the team, present and future, those worlds they hail from will come under the light of the moon. Those worlds will be forever changed with the loss of the heroes hailing from them. There is nothing better than a hero under distress.
By winning they will be putting their companions here at risk. By losing, their homes will be rewritten to be completely different, erasing their place within it. A dire situation indeed. A benefit no matter the outcome.
you're a mod so you already knew that but i'm just pasting it here so i have the benefit of having them all in one place later. i do not recall if they ever mentioned if it was handwritten or not, but from the pictures does it seem like the paper and writing matches up with the page snake is showing them?]
...if this is all legit, it feels really weird that we're having to find this stuff instead of just, you know, being told. It really just makes it seem shady.
It's really suspicious. It like, kind of lines up - "acting as villains on Thursdays," in the rules, one death being "required" a week, but...
[he frowns.]
It's really obvious that it's not something that this door actually needs to stay open. If other rounds ended with everyone going home and that was boring to them, then clearly they were able to open it without a bunch of death. They're just choosing to close it if they're bored.
So, maybe they don't want that out there because they don't want us to feel like punching them in the face if we ever meet them, but I think that ship sailed when they decided to execute Mika for an accident. [he crosses his arms.] The "rounds" thing bothers me, too. Even if we do manage to get home, who's to say some future round won't involve someone else from our world? If they lose we could get screwed over anyway.
I'm not sure if this wording means they went home to their worlds, or simply back to their homes while they were still here. It's written somewhat ambiguously... Were they talking about the twelve of us that were here before? [ Thoughtful. ]
Rounds... I haven't heard of anybody else being stuck here before us.
[ Hum. ]
So we'll need to find whoever it was who brought us all here and ensure they're never able to do this again.
Yep, that's the plan. And also? Find exactly whose idea it was for murder to be a part of all of this and make sure they're not in charge of anything else ever.
Well, the good news is, Nico and I have tons of experience dealing with people who do shady stuff like that, and it sounds like a lot of other people around here do too.
So as soon as we're able to actually like, see them...
...which isn't necessarily a bad thing, not to be able to understand someone like that - but it makes figuring out how to deal with them harder if we don't understand them well enough to know what will work on them.

Let's go to my dorm.

Well, you were here and I was here, so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. But yeah, we can relocate.

Snake observes all of them, and looks somewhere in between annoyed and thoughtful. ]
You'd think they'd end up on the rules, considering they all seem to influence the game. Hidden rules they didn't want people finding...?
