The burgers are pretty good, that's what I'm getting today. But there's also a great wing place not too far away.

Can't go wrong with a good burger.

It's nice to be eating things that aren't out of vending machines now.

Hey, I like junk food as much as the next guy, but I am also a medic. The nutritional value - or lack thereof - of that stuff was going to cause some problems if that was all we were eating for too long.

...we lived on that stuff for a few weeks while this part of town was being rebuilt...

That's not good... eating stuff like that for too long can cause fatigue because you're not getting the fuel your body really needs to keep functioning. Especially when you guys were also doing hero work on top if it, that's bound to be really rough.

Good news is, with things being rebuilt and more food available, it shouldn't be a permanent problem.

It's probably fine. Most of us are under 30. Younger people bounce back quickly right?

Well, you're not wrong about that.

...sounds like most of you are pretty young to have all this hero stuff on your shoulders.

Ah, well. It is what it is. And most of us are adults, albeit young adults.

Fair enough. Disasters don't really wait for people to be the right age to deal with them. They just happen, and you either rise to the occasion or you don't.

It sounds like you're used to that kind of thing.

Yeah, well... [he shrugs] That's just how it is, I guess.

That's how it is where I'm from too. Growing up with a power in a world full of normal people can be a little isolating.

[stunwhistle]

...no kidding. It gets easier once you meet other people who are like you, though.

I take it you have powers back in your world, then?

[stunwhistle]

Yeah. It's actually kinda strange to be able to do less here than I could back home?

Oh? What kind of powers did you have there?

[stunwhistle]

Well, I did have healing. It just didn't really have as many restrictions on it? ...and I could glow in the dark. [...] And fire off light like a laser.

What fascinating utility. How do you get all of that from one power?

[stunwhistle]

It's not one power, exactly. It all comes from my dad. He's got power over all those things and more - and his kids inherit parts of it.

Most of my skill lies with healing, though.

Your dad? Who is he?

[They are assuming he is someone famous and powerful.]

Healing is a very useful skill though, so it's a welcome one to have. You might be called on frequently here, small accidents happen all the time.
