[But they will come open the door. It's a very small office, mostly stuffed with various bits and pieces for running the arcade, but there is also a small table and two chairs. Ox has to climb up on one of the chairs to press buttons on the little computer screen that goes with the camera.]
Here, watch what happens.
[They move it to just before 11pm and let it play out the last minute or so until 11pm. There is even a clock in the corner of the recording too. The timer goes like this: 22:59:57, 22:59:58, 22:59:59. And then 07:00:00, 07:00:01, and so on. The amount of light coming in from the windows is appropriate for that time of day, and also the damage from the night before is suddenly there. The broken glass, the rock, etc.]
[ He watches the screen intently, has Ox replay it again several times, tapping from 22:59:59 to 07:00:00 and back, puzzling over the missing time. Are the cameras just inside the arcade, or is there one with a better view of outside? ]
...Is there anybody else who has access to this room besides you? Like... Tiger?
[The way the camera is positioned, Hanako can see the front entryway of the arcade (the door, the change machine, the start of the prize counter) and then also some of the outside through the massive glass windows right by the front door. Just one camera though.]
I have a key, the manager does, and then one regular employee does too. That way at least one person each day can open up and get in here if they need anything. There's also a hidden key for the staff room in the arcade, but you have to get into the arcade first to even get to that staff room key.
[ Nothing unusual out there, then. Even when he leans in real close and squints, he can't make out anything like water. ]
So, any of them could have come in and tampered with this. Unless one of them reported their key being stolen.
[ That doesn't narrow down the list of suspects by much, and this line of thinking only applies if he believes the security footage was physically tampered with. With a sigh, Hanako sits back, rubs at his eyes a little, then looks over at Ox. ]
On the profiles, it said Tiger's item was "time." Of the school mysteries I'm in charge of, mystery number one is the Clock Keepers, who control the flow of time. Something like this would have been simple for them.
I think that's a bit more abstract than people realize. Their power is listed as transformation, and I've seen them transform to fight. Also mine says 'self-reflection' and that's not really what my power is either.
[ He would have thought they'd all know each other's items by now, having been over six months, but he supposes he's never mentioned his to anybody else either.
He takes the mirror in hand, though, and turns it towards his face. Is it just his reflection? Tired, with bruises that are too slow to fade. ]
You have one heck of a punch for not being a fighter!
[ Anyways, he's a fighter, so where's his weapon? why is it a rock? He recognizes what rock it is and remembers why he'd given it away, but in the end, it's just a rock. ]
Does it do anything? Or is it special somehow?
[ Is it a makeup mirror... did he get beat up by a girl is what he's thinking but he's not going to ask because that's embarrassing ]
no subject
[They will not follow after him when he pulls away though.]
no subject
Haha! I'll have to be careful not to let you catch me next time!
[ There's going to be a next time. But not today. Today, he wants to see the security system, what all could have gone wrong with it ]

Why did Tiger come to mind though?

[ his is a rock. I didn't want to give him anything more useful than a rock. ]
What's "time" and "self-reflection," then?

[They reach into their pocket and pull out a small compact mirror, which they hand over to Hanako.]

...you know, some lucky people came here with guns and other weapons. And you have this mirror. Do you know what goes into deciding who gets what?

And this doesn't do anything besides being a compact mirror, no. It was...okay, don't laugh, but it was given to me by the first person I ever saved.

Huh... That's awesome. So you were a superhero back then, too?
[ Hanako had been looking at the spread of our cast and going "hm" ngl ]

[ He closes the mirror, and hands it back.

I'm glad I made a good impression on you, it's way better than being stabbed.
[They will be just a little cheeky. As a tweat.]
