will drops the shovel like a hot coal when that thought comes to mind, honestly. it doesn't matter how brief it is.
it takes him a second to process what reigen is saying.]
Unfortunately I cannot completely discount the idea that my dad might have opened a club, but it probably doesn't actually have anything to do with him? He shouldn't be... here.
[what do you think there's weed down here because it's my cyoa
anyway none of the fake plants are weed. the liquid is just normal liquid, it doesn't burn or acid his fingers off or anything! like, he can't tell exactly what it is without tasting it, but. it's a little warm, but not in an unpleasant way. there's actually a set of bottles attached to the side of the cauldron, like nico could scoop some out if he wanted.
the shovel clangs to the ground. clang clang clang.]
[ cutting will a glance of concern. he doesn't repeat the question but it's clear he's also asking if will's okay. in the meanwhile he will in fact scoop up some of the liquid into three bottles just in case. you never know. ]
Your father would have a club and not tell you though. [ tiredly. but he hums to what reigen says. ] We should finish looking through the house before we leave, right?
[this is a good christian neighborhood, or something.
nico can take the bottles! does he just keep them on his person for now or does he pass them out to the other two?
the rest of the house awaits! it's nice down here, kind of warm. this whole house is that way, though. it's something you built from scratch. lot of blood, sweat and tears.]
Yeah. Maybe there's going to be bombs or swords or something around here.
[this comment makes absolutely zero sense because he didn't say that he thinks this is a video game but doesn't understand what genre of video game it is. anyway can they take any of the items in the garden...?]
I wouldn't mind a sword. [ he has no idea what reigen is thinking. he just likes swords. regardless he looks at will like ??? at him keeping the net, but not the shovel. ]
I think if we're taking one we may as well take both? I kind of regretted not taking more last time, or at least being smarter with my choice. [ so he picks up the shovel, but he also opens one of the bottles of liquid for both of them. ] Both of you...what does this smell like to you? I'm not sure what it is but I want to confirm something.
[he watches nico to see how he handles the shovel. better than he did, probably. nico's better than him at most things.
(he doesn't voice that thought because he doesn't want to end up derailing things bickering with him about who's better.)
he heads over to sniff at the liquid. sniff sniff.
does it smell any different to him, flurry? or will he have to taste it. because if he can't get a scent he will try to take a tiny sip. don't @ him nico]
[reigen can take anything he wants, if he feels the need, but it's really just bags of fertilizer (which might seem weird considering there's only fake plants in here), fake plants, and the shovel that will dropped. i guess he could take a fake plant if he wanted, but if he tries it comes out of the entire pot with the dirt attached. it's all plastic, like a barbie toy.
when nico picks up the shovel, nothing really happens. he can let the other two smell the bottle. and maybe beat them to death with the shovel, wouldn't that be fun?
when will smells the liquid, it does smell different! it smells like soda - and weirdly, mentos.]
[ unfortunately this doesn't strike him as weird right away. not that he very often has thoughts about committing homicide to people he likes, but when you're a child of death sometimes it's just natural to think of how a person might die.
shovel get. ]
I think there were three different entrances on the main floor. Should we each take one and then head up to the second floor together?
[ NEITHER OF YOU ANSWERED WHAT IT SMELLED LIKE so he's gonna assume maybe he's insane for thinking it smells like oreos and put the bottles back in his jacket pocket. whatever. fine. he has his murder shovel and he's kind of Aware of the weight of the thing in his hand. how quickly he could swing it if he had to. the right angle for the blade--
--hm. maybe he needs a new hobby after all.
anyway, he...isn't dumb. he knows what the quiet signifies and he looks at reigen like he's asking permission. like. is it really okay? he'd probably do whatever he wants anyway but he has some semblance of how weird these little trips can be. even if they aren't real (?). ]
...okay. Let's all stick to the same floor at least. We'll take the left first. [ and he will approach will as reigen begins to head up the stairs, letting him pick whatever room he wants. he extends a paw for will though. hold plz? ]
...neither of those--really? I can't even imagine how that smells. It's just Oreos to me. [ it's only when he finds himself idly wondering if he should kill will for having a wrong answer to the liquid's smell or reigen for going in the opposite direction that he realizes maybe there is something wrong with this shovel. so he will set this by the front door so they can grab it on the way out. it's hard to do anything when one of his hands is occupied with will's, and he can at least read the vibe. ]
We'll be close by then, and we can take the back room together. Be careful. [ they can go left... ]
...so far I still feel the same. [ this is to will, but i suppose reigen may hear this as well as they're splitting up. ] Animal transformation notwithstanding.
[it's less that he's nervous and more that he's codependent enough that he's a little sulky about nico having suggested they split up. don't mind him.]
Oreos and takeout...? [not even golden oreos?? smh.] ...I wonder if it's like how ambrosia tastes different to everyone who eats it?
[anyway. into the left room they go, what's here? he squeezes nico's paw.]
...okay, that's a good sign. I don't get why we're animals though.
[we use paw interchangeably so often that i forgot i actually made you guys animals until right now
anyway - we'll start with the right room. the right room is a kitchen! it's a cute little space. the room is warmly lit, with light pink paneling on the walls and a rustic brown wood floor. there's a bookshelf and cabinet combination that has all sorts of cookbooks and assorted glassware, as well as a couple of fancy wine bottles that don't look like they have wine in them, judging by the color. there's an island counter with little barstools, as well as a fridge, coffeemaker, stove, and sink. on the counter there is a packet of seeds for pumpkins, and against the wall is an axe, next to a pile of wood.
it smells good in here. like pizza.
the room to the left is a game room? or... something like that, it's a media center room. the walls are covered in books - though at second glance, it appears that they are painted onto the wall to make it appear like the walls are bookshelves. the floor is a light pink color, with a cute flower pattern. there's very little lighting in this room, save for the faerie lights that line the walls.
there's a huge tv on the wall, with a table below it that has a switch, and a single zombie movie sitting on it. for some reason there's a fishing rod sitting on the pink couch that's situated in front of the tv.]
[well, he's going to grab that axe. thank god. finally, some weapons to fight the bosses with. and he'll grab some pumpkin seeds, since seeds can come in handy, too.
I was wondering the same. Not that I think we'll need it, but again I'd rather take everything we can as long as we can, just in case. We still don't know where we are, and we should probably watch Reigen to make sure we all get back safe.
[ not that he thinks reigen can't defend himself but uh. they've kind of been trained for combat and quests their whole lives, so it's just a thought. at least reigen can't hear them.
they're in the game room and he...pauses. there's something that kind of tugs at his brain and he frowns in thought as he looks around. he shouldn't assume. none of those things mean that this is...that. so he doesn't voice the thought out loud. instead, he will lead them forward. there is a fishing rod? but he ignores it in favor of the switch.

if he sticks his finger in it (just the tip!) is it just a normal liquid? he's about to taste it, but he hears something he should not be hearing. ]
