It's unfortunate that we've been this busy, but with the city repairs and fallout, it's how it goes.

What caused all of this destruction, anyhow?

The moon fell out of the sky a month ago. It caused destruction and chaos.

Mm. That's what the townspeople said, too.

When I asked around, I heard something along the lines of a group of villains took advantage of said chaos, and it resulted in the loss of your colleagues - I'm sorry for your loss.

[ Snake sips their drink and looks slightly distant. ]

Thank you. That's correct. We lost four of our group because of everything that happened.

And the villains that came about - we've not heard much about what that even means. What sort are we expecting to deal with here...?

It depends on the villain. There was one calling themselves the Cubist and trapping people in invisible cubes.

...I see. [ sounds. threatening. ] And they just appear at random? [ are these just monsters ]

They do. They appear more often at night. Though, it's occasionally only regular crime, like theft.

You'd hope they'd get a better motivation.

It seems some things are consistent across any sort of universe...

[ once again dry as hell. ]

Did things just escalate? Or was it the moon incident that brought all of us here? You all made it sound as if it was planned, if rushed.

So you're already familiar with the type. [ There's a very light sense of annoyance in their tone. Why are there so many of them in the universe? ]

It's hard to say for certain, but it seems possible it's linked.

Yes. Like several others - my world was in something of danger just before I came.

And you all've been dealing with this particular scourge for... six months now, right?

Mine is as well. You'd think they could wait until after things were settled before bringing us here.
