Yeah... Fighting villains or whatever is one thing, but this is something else entirely. And none of us even signed up for this! It's not fair to spring something like this on everyone!
...have they given any indication of why they want it done this way? It... it definitely seems odd.
They can't seriously think it's fair to do this, can they? To make it our responsibility to deal with what happened - but then to just decide what the punishment is going to be?
If they weren't involved in finding the culprit, I really don't think they should have a say in what happens to her. That should be on us. We're the ones who did the hard work today, not them. So we should be allowed to say she won't be executed.
Not that I know of. But they couldn't get much information from the people that would know, either.
I'm with you. Believe me, I don't think it's fair at all. Especially with it being an accident, and - and they've never executed villains before, so why now?
[ those are answers that will won't have, so they shake their head. ]
No, you don't need to apologize - this isn't your fault.
[he's frustrated, but not with them; it's whoever sent that message, and whoever decided that they had to do a trial the way they did, that he has beef with.]
...sorry. I don't know how to help, either. But I want to. [...] They've never executed villains at all? It's odd that they'd suddenly start now. ...it's even odder that they'd go so quickly from welcoming us all with that party to wanting us all arrested just a few days later.
...hey, listen. You didn't sign up for this either. It's like you guys said before - you've only been here for six months now, right? You've taken on the role of heroes like they expected you to, but... six months is a pretty short time. And it sounds like the higher-ups aren't telling you everything.
[which is. definitely concerning, to say the least.]
In my experience... when the way things are done change suddenly like this it's usually a sign of someone or something working behind the scenes. [...] ...you're in contact more with the mayor and the others than we are, so - be careful.
You are a good leader. It's easy to tell you care about your team and everyone else here - and that's the most important part of it.
...yeah, I get it. You'll do what you gotta. We'll do the same. [he smiles] Just watch your back, 'cause we won't always be able to watch it for you. But I'll back you up however I can.
It's a learning process. And it's totally normal to feel like you're not really sure what you're doing or that someone would do it better. [he sounds like he is speaking from experience.] But that's part of how you grow as a leader. You look at the things you feel like you could improve on, and you improve them. If you think you're doing everything right to start with then you'll never grow at all.
[he smiles at them.]
Thanks. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be counting on it.
[and to think at this point he doesn't know he's going to get arrested in a few hours yet.]

For Mika...? [ they gently drop their head on their sketchbook. ] Probably until tomorrow, like the message said. Not a lot of time.

That's way too fast. She didn't even have a lawyer...
no subject
I know... And we're not lawyers, either. I think it's just that they feel safer this way?

[he looks so sad.]
I just... I can't understand this.

this sucks. he takes a seat on the sofa next to them and puts a hand on their shoulder.]
...is there anything I can do for you right now?
[before he and norma bail to try to jailbreak mika lol]
no subject
No... I'll be okay, I'm just worried about you guys. And the others... I just want you guys to be safe and make it home at the end of this.

[he sighs deeply.]
This is a whole mess.

Something's definitely up behind the scenes.

[ only a week with the newcomers, and they'd already failed. ]
...No, they haven't. I think they're scared of letting something like last month happen again, but this isn't the right way to prevent it.
Maybe you're right. But it's so weird! There wasn't anything like this before - everything was all straightforward!

We'll try to be careful. But if that's the only way we have to learn more, we can't not use it, either. It might be worth a little risk.

Hopefully you won't need it after more days like this, huh?

he knocks on wood though. just to be safe.]
