How long have you been driving for, anyway?

So you're... what, 26? Or did you start driving later?

Later. It's not a necessity where I'm from.

Makes sense. When I was younger, my mom took me to New York City. She parked the car, we got out, and she said we were not going to drive a single time on our visit. And we really didn't need to - the subway got us everywhere we needed to go.

You really have no reason to drive in a big city like that. It's a pain when the streets are always that crowded.

Yeah, driving in NYC seems like a surefire way to develop anger issues if you didn't already have them.

Better to use the public transportation in those cases. I hear it's robust.

It is! Too bad the same can't be said for the rest of the States.

I've been all over the U.S. with my mom - she took me on tour with her a lot when I was a kid. I haven't really been outside the country much, though, so I couldn't really speak to how robust public transportation is in other places.

But it's really bad in some places in the U.S. - if you don't have a car you're not getting anywhere.

On tour? Your mother is a musician?

I haven't really traveled internationally either. I'm usually busy where I was before coming here.

Yeah, she's an alt-country singer. She's pretty good.

Where would you go if you could travel anywhere you wanted?

Seattle seems like an interesting city.

I heard Seattle's where the Amazons are these days.

Like, the company? Amazon? It's a front. Like yeah, they ship a bunch of stuff out and they're very efficient, but it's how they fund their kingdom of warrior women.

Or, uh. Queendom, I guess?

I've never heard that before. I was mostly in it for the coffee.

Do you have an agreement with the Amazons or is it their territory and everyone else stays out?

Not exactly. A lot of people didn't even know they were there until recently - they just kind of keep to themselves and do their stuff behind the scenes. [a beat.] Some people pass through there sometimes for quests.

Yeah. I guess you'd say it's my world's equivalent of hero stuff?

So you already have some experience with world saving? How well does it usually go for you?

[stunwhistle]

Pretty well. We stopped the world from ending often enough that I was still, you know, alive to be brought here.

Experienced heroes. That bodes well for your team.

[stunwhistle]

Well, I mostly played support when all of that was happening. Plenty of heroes from back home are stronger or more powerful - I'm just a healer.

[he shrugs.]

...but that's gonna be important too, I think. So I'll do my best. But I get the feeling we all will.
