Pretty close! It's about avoiding misfortunes. Not necessarily death though.
But it really only works on the user, and all three of the team powers are like that too. So it's not too helpful in a battle. Mostly I use Fate Avoidance to keep myself from getting hurt really bad in a fight.
Fate Transfer is one you use on someone else and it gives them a second use of their team power that week. I...I'm not sure why I have that. But oh well?
Fate Accomplice ties yourself to one other person of your choice, and whatever happens to one happens to the other. So like, if you and I were tied together and someone punched me, you would get a bruise too.
I borrowed some from the library earlier, so there are a few we could test with.
[No storybooks or anything, though. If Ox noticed the books lying around the common area, they might have noticed that they're largely about science and technology.
Right now, she is shoveling a lot of curry in her mouth, though. Rita doesn't give compliments easily, but it looks like she likes it.]
[I'm glad Ox is here to be responsible when Rita is mostly a slob and would just leave them out.
She flips open one book -- a science text about electricity and circuits, and turns to a page with an illustration of a light bulb and an explanation of basic circuits, complete with a diagram. She places a hand on the page and focuses...]
[She opens it up and starts drawing... well, it looks like a light bulb, like the illustration she was just looking at. She starts with the outline, and focuses as she presses the pen to the page...

What about the others? Transfer and Accomplice?

[rita's battle role is usually that of a glass cannon. she's supposed to not take hits. she doesn't take them well.]
What about mine? The... 'Look in a Book' or whatever.
[that's not what it's called.]

[They use their phone to look up Rita's profile.]
"Take a look, it's in a book"...Probably has something to do with like, bringing stuff from a book to life? We can grab a book and try it out.

And that's okay, Cobalt Ox sees Rita still eating it and will take that as a compliment.]
It sure would be easier if we were just given files on you and knew how your power worked, but that's now how it is here.

[she shovels another spoonful of curry into her mouth.]
Looks like they were light on the details for you, though.

[Anyway, she's cleaned her plate (thoroughly, at that), so she's putting it aside and getting up to go gather some books.]
Okay, let's see what we can figure out about this power.

When I use mine I focus on the object I need to. Maybe focus on something in the book and see what happens?

[They run off to the scrapbooking room and come back with a small blank journal and a pen.]
Try focusing while you draw something?

Huh?
[she holds up her empty hand.
next to the beginnings of a lightbulb-shaped outline is an ink drawing of a pen, much like the one she was just holding.]
