[ the polar bear is satisfied with this, so the guards cuff the crew and march the three of them down the hall. nyooms is swinging his arms like he's having a great time!
i don't know if any of you have memorized the map well enough to know where you're going. do you behave for the walk? ]
[ technically speaking, hung behaves on the walk. he doesn't super remember where the theater was in relation to everything, considering this place is godawful huge and i rolled an 8, but we're making do atm.
he is, however, testing how weak the links of the cuffs are as subtly as he can by pulling his wrists apart in the cuffs. that's a 15 chief. ]
[ well I rolled a 18 so as they're walking through the casino i guess danny sees and understands the layout of everything. he is in his mind palace, and his mind palace is this casino.
he is also testing his cuffs as they walk, though--but not nearly as subtly bc I rolled a 5 this time. but he wants to see if his twiggy ass wrists and twink hands might be able to squeeze through the cuffs. ]
[ well jolyne is just unhappy so she's not rolling well? she's just trying to suck it up! this is the first time she's been in cuffs since getting here and it's giving her bad vibes in general so she is probably just up in her head for a moment as they walk in, but then decides to just. TRY.
she's gonna look around as best she can anyways, taking in any particular landmarks going in from the stairwell, committing what she can to memory, larger than life kind of things that stand out to make potentially escaping easier! blehhh take us away, furries. ]
[ you cannot escape the cuffs, i'm afraid. in a casino with patrons from humans to cats to giraffes, your cuffs are made to be adjustable in order to accommodate all clientele. they are also electronic, not standard mechanical cuffs. harder to break out of, unfortunately. or is it unfortunate? much to think about.
hung knows enough to know they're heading south, but he gets distracted by the view to keep track of where they are. danny enters his mind palace and recognizes that they're heading straight for the eastside casino, but they take a sharp turn down the encore esplanade.
jolyne may see a couple of exits along the way, one of which goes into a parking garage.
danny and jolyne are so deep in their casino architecture mind palaces that they pay no attention the crowds. i mean, why would you? an arctic fox is drinking primly at the bar. a sloth spins a roulette wheel while a young man with purple hair cheers it on. this is like a one piece cast. they see nothing off about this at all.
as they near a nightclub, hung will notice that the security presence increases greatly. there is a bunny with a gun hovering near the door that watches them from afar.
[ this really does not seem unusual to hung, as they're lead along. but he keeps the nightclub in mind, clocking the bunny and wondering briefly if the gun is also loaded in silly string. which is a ridiculous sentence! he still has no idea what's going on with this situation.
he'll try to reach one of the pockets where he's got the lock picking tools stored, so that he can see if he can't fiddle with the cuffs since they're electronic. it's fine if they keep going this way. it at least means that maybe there'll be less people around. ]
[ well. this IS the way to the theater, like that one guy appeared to slip up and admit to. so he's okay with this for now. although he does give up on the cuffs. ]
[ toddling along... she will note gunbun in front of said door - is it marked on anything, that door? also hi kumon (is it kumon? who knows, not jolyne.)
she whistles a little. ]
Fancy...
[ she will likely try not to pick at the cuffs just yet because they're being walked/watched, but. it is something she definitely keeps in mind. ]
[ it might be kumon. jolyne doesn't know. anyway you can't quite pick the lock, it seems you need an electronic key for them.
as the bunny, hung can tell its gun looks different from the ones these guards have. it may be safe to assume that it's not the same type of ammo.
the door where the bun is hanging out is open, actually, he's just guarding the entrance. the bun seems to think that your polar bear friend has this handled and does not approach.
down the hall they go! as they turn the corner north, they can see the theater entrance. hung and jolyne can tell that a group of people are behind the doors, but only danny recognizes them immediately. they'reveryfamiliar. ]
[ a small, displeased, doggish grumble leaves him when he discovers he can't pick the lock, but he doesn't let it bother him all that much. instead, he tries to take in everything, making a mental note to avoid the bunny if at all possible in this entire fiasco.
again, at least they're in the casino.
albeit the completely different one from the one they were aiming to enter at first. it's fine. although he is deeply confused as to why the encore theater is closer to the wynn casino, and the wynn casino is closer to the encore casino, but he is not the person who designed this place. ]
You guys sure did come quick if this is where your security is...
We have security all over the casino. [ says the polar bear, like duh? it's a casino? do you really think they're sticking to one room all the time ever.
with that perception check, there is somehow always a guard in jolyne's way, so she can't see exactly who is behind those doors before the guards usher to them to keep moving, but there's not far to go. they'll be shoved in a room on the right side of the hall. ]
You'll have to wait in here for now. You. [ pointing at the guy who caught jolyne. ] Stay here, and stay in character this time.
Okay. Bye bye~!
[ he waves as the others head out and plops himself on a table, kicking his feet. the door locks behind them. ]
[ forget what the guard said, Danny is just looking over at the other group and scrutinizing them. Are they also dressed in cool spy outfits....do they have the treasure....did they also eat shit and break their teeth.... ]
What the hell does in character mean in this case exactly?
[ frowning a bit and fussing with her stupid cuffs. are there chairs in this room? a vent near the ceiling? what's the guy that's been left in here with us doing? ]
[ it looks like a generic questioning room, which means the walls are solid so you can't just look out at the others now. from what danny saw at a glance, whisper is in a nice outfit, nico is goth, and hans is hans. nothing to see here, really. it looked like they were just chatting.
there are chairs and a vent. this guy is just chilling until they mention staying in character. ]
Ah! [ he hops off the table like :O!
and in a split second, his demeanor changes, from lackadaisical to alert and deadly serious, as if he's changed into a different person entirely. his expression turns severe, watching each of them like he expects any or all of them to attack at any moment, one hand on the gun at his hip. the picture of a perfect security guard, he does not answer their questions. ]
[ there's just. the heaviest sigh in the world as he looks around the room, away from their hyperactive watchdog turned ( bubbles voice ) HARDCORE. ]
You're pretty convincing! I think that'd probably call for a repeat performance, but I don't know, I'm kind of tired of the initial one at this point...
[ but they are in a much smaller space. maybe he can't spring around as easily and they can brain him with a chair. he has no idea that there's another group here. ]
But what would...your character do, if there was another security breach you guys missed? Because I saw another group, a...rival of ours, in the theater that we just passed by.
You should probably take care of that too. You know. If you want to do a good job at security.
[ jolyne didn't see jack shit and she's like buzzing with the desire to try and knee this guy in the face on principle. (what would ermes do? she would absolutely continue to try and clock the guy no matter how many 8s she rolled. but also. she's not ermes. she can only wish.)
instead she just looks at danny. let the phantom wonder talk for a min...
while she just kind of readies herself to brain this man with both her fists if he wants to be funny about his answer. she looks at hung with a kind of "we're gonna try and kick his ass if all else fails, right?" look. ]
[ he looks at jolyne for a moment, nods in response with the look - but does hold a hand up, low, in a hang on gesture. ]
Alright, well. That's fair. [ and he's just going to walk towards the door and see what nyooms mcgee does. he's not trying to make a break for it, just heading over there! ] A break would be nice, though.
[ kitten thinks of nothing but clobbering men all day at this point.
she will just clench her fists for a second more and then they go lax. she glances at the vent and kind of gauges its size before turning back to watch hung and nyoomy mcgee carefully.
she does give danny a small nod like look, that wasn't a bad idea okay? you gotta try everything. muttering in general now: ]
[ he is just going to quietly go and stand in front of the door to prevent hung from reaching it. no breaks. no exit.
also, for the record, you guys still have all the stuff you haven't already ditched or yote at guards or cameras. they did not take your stuff. so like. that's a thing. ]
