Loppy, with Vane's encouragement manages to attack the beast's eyes, freezing them for a moment.
Unfortunately, with Temenos as the first thing in their path, they lash out at him. Clearly aiming to bite off the arm that's holding the music stand. The teeth gouge deep, piercing into Temenos's arm and pulling away. Not quite managing to tear the limb off.
Patamon yells out, "Temenos!?" What are you doing this close to to the fight?! ]
Aiming for the eyes is a lot easier when it's not trying to--Temenos, what the hell?!

[ he's still got the music stand barely clenched in his hand, and he drops it with the stinging pain of being about .5 seconds from losing his arm, feeling the immediate, painful desire for his magic first, followed by the adrenaline. ]
Hit it! [ FUCKING HELP, PATAMON!!! but with the combined effort of ace and vane, temenos releases his hold on the stand to try and use it for the goddamn thing's mouth - if he lets go, and gods he's going to let go - maybe he can yank his arm free before he loses it. ]

Loppy freezes the ground underneath the red creature, ensuring that it can't move from its current spot. Vane yanks on its tail and it can't even stumble away.
These creatures are not only companions, but they're also partially the humans that they've bonded with. When Temenos cries out in pain, Patamon's desire to protect him only grows stronger. In a flash of light, it's no longer Patamon, but an angel taller than Temenos in their place. Their fist glows with white, radiant energy, a holy light, as they punch directly to this beast's side, forcing it to let go of Temenos, and directing its attention.
There's a wild snap of jaws, but between the blinding the ice, and the punch to the side, it misses anything of substance. ]
[ okay well temenos is free so ace is just going to grab him and move a few feet away from the jaws of death while it's frozen and just continue to stare at the angel like ???????? ]

[ but it's also. well. back into the saddle where he belongs. just took a little blood sacrifice! the voice in the back of his head that sounds like castti tells him to get his torn cloak off to wrap it around his arm one handed the best that he can where he's back safe in squishy mage zone, and he grits his teeth and finishes what he'd usually use for a luminescence spell - ] Holy light, illuminate the darkness!
[ "You've got it!" Gabumon's fireball hits, melting away the ice on its eyes, and now it can more easily direct it's horrible, snapping jaws.
Loppy here's the command to attack, and punches with its tiny little fists! It's hard to say if any damage is actually being done, but there's a lot of heart put into the blow.
Patamon, or the angel who was Patamon, hears Temenos' voice loud and clear. It's dramatic, but considering he had his arm nearly torn off, he has so many rights at the moment. Again, their fist glows with the holy light, the resonance between their partner and themselves, and they throw another easy punch at the horrible red creature.
Now it's barely managing to stand and snaps at poor Gabumon, who is now currently stuck in the mouth, but not bitten in half, as they scratch, claw and do everything they can to get out of this.

Gabumon knows Ace is here with him, and that's all they really need. If somebody is willing to assist them, even if it's a foolish idea, they'll do everything they can to help them in turn. The bond they share is of trying to protect each other. In a flash of light, they become a large wolf, protecting Ace from further bite damage by shifting their body in the way of the fangs. What's a little injury?
The monster does its best to buck Vane off its back, and barely succeeds, rapidly trashing. Loppy hears their partner's cry and plea, the way that Vane wants to protect their companions. Their desires are the same, and the protection they want to bestow are in alignment. They glow, and in Lopmon's place is a bunny with knives. They don't quite manage to pierce this creature's skin, but they do wound its belly.
"A bit late for what ifs." Temenos please don't get up. The angel nods, holding up the golden rod they've gained upon transformation, and willing the light into creating a spear tip for it. With a five, the rapid movement of the beast makes it impossible to stab into. ]

which is to say first: oh ok the lizard in a fur coat is now a wolf. and the little bunny is now a bigger bunny. this feels like the most normal change. ]

[ It's actually extremely difficult to miss when you're inside of a creature's mouth. The target is really just all around you, so Ace does successfully kick and punch into the mouth. Not that it does too much, human fists aren't the correct match for these creatures. The wolf fares better, spitting bigger blast of fire down it's throat.
Vane, due to the wild thrashing, he's able to hit it in the eye and it makes a pained noise. Loppy tries once again, but somehow, they whiff completely.
On the other hand, Angemon gets the last attack in. They go back to an old classic, and smite the offending monster with a blast of light. The static sweeps across the beast and it's like it never existed... except for the injuries they've retained.
The battle is over! Check for loot... later! Ace, the wolf, and Vane are now falling straight to the ground. ]
