Makes sense. When I was younger, my mom took me to New York City. She parked the car, we got out, and she said we were not going to drive a single time on our visit. And we really didn't need to - the subway got us everywhere we needed to go.
I've been all over the U.S. with my mom - she took me on tour with her a lot when I was a kid. I haven't really been outside the country much, though, so I couldn't really speak to how robust public transportation is in other places.
But it's really bad in some places in the U.S. - if you don't have a car you're not getting anywhere.
I heard Seattle's where the Amazons are these days.
Like, the company? Amazon? It's a front. Like yeah, they ship a bunch of stuff out and they're very efficient, but it's how they fund their kingdom of warrior women.

[driving this fast on a freeway? terrifying.
on a racetrack with someone who clearly knows what they're doing? that's fine.]

[ It's a skill just like anything else. ]
Have you driven before?

Or, you let me have it and supervise, and we call it driver's ed.

[ Because 120 MPH is terrifying unless you know what you're doing. ]

[a beat.]
What? I said schist. [another beat.] Schist!
[...]
Ooookay, I guess I'm being censored.

[ They'll do one more loop before slowing down and to a stop. ]

[weird! anyway, he settles a bit as they finish their loop.]
Thanks for driving me. This was pretty cool.

You're welcome. I enjoy a good joyride whenever I can get one.

[he smiles]
How long have you been driving for, anyway?
no subject
I'm coming up on a decade now.

You really have no reason to drive in a big city like that. It's a pain when the streets are always that crowded.

I haven't really traveled internationally either. I'm usually busy where I was before coming here.

[good enough to attract apollo's attention, anyway. he smiles.]
Where would you go if you could travel anywhere you wanted?

Seattle seems like an interesting city.

Or, uh. Queendom, I guess?
