[ he is not a cat, but he has years of halfblood training under his belt so following along isn't that hard. nobody ever thinks to look up, so he scuttles up after him a little more carefully and follows after hans as they creep-crawl their way over to the door.
it's not as easy, likely, because walls aren't made for climbing but there are always little divets and points in the surface to latch onto. it is easy to follow hans, and he lingers as well. he doesn't crawl as high as hans does, but he sticks to the shadows like he's used to and does what he can to blend in with his entire all-black attire.
now that they are closer, can they see anything inside the room itself as they continue to sneak past the currently blind gunny? ]
whisper is going to try her luck getting into the club the old-fashioned way: through the front door. if there's people bumping around, she'll try to take advantage of that too as to slip inside. if worse comes to worse... the boys still have a chance.
is the treasure visible from the doorway, or is it too dark? ]
[All right, then, since we're out of line of sight anyway the gunny gets to keep its glasses intact........ for the time being.
Hans goes directly for the top of the doorway, swinging through to the nightclub -- he slows down a little here, since nightclub interiors tend to be more complex than casino hallways and he doesn't want to like, crash into a ceiling light in the shape of a lobster or something.
That said, assuming they're able to make it inside: he has a rough idea of where the treasure is, so he'll wait for Nico to catch up some and then scout in that direction. Does it seem like there's any movement inside the nightclub currently? Should they continue along the ceiling towards the target or can they use the floor at this point?]
[ Whisper can't see it from the doorway, but can manage to get past the gun bunny. There's a hallway that leads further inside to the club and bar portion of this room.
As Hans and Nico are now inside of the nightclub, they're also in the hallway and will need to go in further to see the bar.
There's no movement in this area. They could use the floor or continue to use the ceiling. ]
...I can follow you from below. [ it's mumbled quietly just in case they draw attention and then, well. he will take his chances and slowly descend from the ceiling, dropping down when he's close enough to see and landing fairly silently and easily with the roll of 16. there's no movement, but he's used to working in darkness and it means nico also is staying against the wall of the hall to listen carefully for any signs of life or anything off. is there anything he can pick up on?
if not, he will wait for hans to move and begin silently walking ahead to head down the hall and go toward the bar. he will be trying to keep track of whisper's movements as well. ]
[ does not movement mean the hall is empty, or are there patrons that are just vibing in place?
regardless, whisper will continue to move inwards, slowly and carefully. if the hall leads to the bar, i suppose that's where she's going: anything glowing or giving off nice ambient light? does the bar look normal if it can be made out at all? ]
[Well, now Hans is feeling lucky so he'll continue scampering along the ceiling at a decent clip, taking out his remaining stick to test the air immediately in front of him for traps, and presumably not far enough out to hit ceiling lights or anybody super tall like a giraffe or whatever.
He's pretty well adjusted to the dark, so I guess it's down to whether the treasure glows in the dark or is otherwise flashy enough to give off any kind of aura; since they don't know how long they'll have for this, he's going straight for it as best he can.
Per his mental map and the ability to be spotted from outside, hopefully it isn't too far to jackpot?]
However, the lights come back on and they can now see that the lasers are once again surrounding the treasure. Now that they're not all plunged in darkness, they can see the silver for what it is. A silver container full of Ultimate Curry that the group feels is their ultimate treasure.
The laser alarms are once again present, now that things have kicked back on. Hans is lucky enough none of them go to the ceiling, but they do surround the curry.
[ oh hey. that's what whisper is going to do. would she and nico be able to make an opening big enough for hans to grab the curry if they're able to redirect enough of the beams? ]
[Wao, he feels like he's seeing infinity of himself with all these lasers and mirrors surrounding him...... Also he definitely has to stifle a cackle at seeing the prize. Go figure.
What Hans is going to do with the lights on is find the nearest sturdy-looking ceiling fixture -- whether it's a particularly big ceiling light or a ceiling decoration or beam or whatever -- and quick-tie some rope around it so he can potentially lower himself if the lasers allow it.
It really doesn't help that the curry is just in an open container, but he's got steady hands (paws) at the very least.]
[ Luck is ever in your favor today. It is possible to use a protrusion on the ceiling to get down to the bar. With Nico and Whisper angling the mirrors to give him the opening, he can easily lift the curry away from its placement.
Nobody else is in here at the moment, but they'll need to get past the security outside the nightclub. ]
[ good thinking, hans. he seems pleased that this is working so far, and he's kind of curious why this curry is the ultimate treasure.
but it's fine. they have the curry and now they just have to get back out. the lights being out helped in that moment, but he's going to take a look around the bar. is there a back door or an emergency exit nearby? what's the actual state of the bar? does there appear to be anything on the counters or anything that may be of use to them? ]
...how good are you at climbing one-handed? If we can sneak it across the ceiling, we can cause a distraction to get us out of the club.
Nyahihihi... Could be no-handed if I'm of the mind.
[Which is to say, he's perfectly fine with staying up on the ceiling, though with how up-and-down their luck is he's going to at least use three limbs! That said, Hans will join Nico in scouring the bar -- mostly he's looking for a lid for this damn thing or anything that could act as a lid, and also something like a cloth or bar towel or whatever to cover it up, make it easier to hide and transport.
A pat at his pack with their default supplies, though, once Whisper speaks up.]
We still got them smoke bombs and caltrops and all meownner o' things to get us clear. My guess's they ain't recovered from the shut off yet, either.
[So they should get going if they can find either another exit or some way to secure the treasure or simply a decision to go back the way they came.]
[ The state of the bar is... it looks clean. But there are napkins and there's some lids for drinks. Nothing exactly the size of the container, but they could feasibly use a cloth napkin to ensure it doesn't spill. Several shot glasses stacked up on one end, and there's a hose that would spray water... probably.
There is a way over to the Island Bar and Casino on the water. Much of the water that people encountered had raccoon traps within them. ]
Maybe let's not do no-handed yet. [ but he thinks this through, watching hans look around and letting him decide their best method of transport. since he does not really know about the water traps from before, he says: ]
Think we can either go the way we came and hope for a big enough distraction, or we can cut through the water. Whatever we think is fastest to get back to the car.
Water's full o' traps, if ya feel like takin' that risk.
[His tone says he could go either way on it, but we've established that he is a thrill seeker and ridiculous by now. While they're talking, Hans snags some napkins and a badly-sized lid, and sort of jerry rigs them together to make one functioning lid-like implement, that he then secures with a good length of rope and knots.
Then he's going to very quickly cut a piece out of his own outfit to wrap the ensemble in to make it less conspicuous -- good thing his outfit already looks kind of tattered and outlandish, so really, having a bit missing isn't that big a deal.
He's going to start moving towards the exit. Time's a-wasting.]
But they ain't got any idea who they're lookin' for apart from Whisper. If we get the smoke down right, they still won't know an' we can hit the crowd to get out.
[ well. he was going to scale the wall again but that obviously is not an option with the roll of 2, and the roll of 7 means he's not exactly primed to dart past whoever may be coming. so instead, he's grabbing his smoke pellets and also the rope. worst case scenario, maybe he can quickly set up a trap to clothesline whoever the fuck. ]
Time's up then. Are you two ready? [ ready for WHAT. they have enough smoke pellets they might be able to move and cloud their visitors' vision multiple times. ]
[ whisper is going to prepare the caltrops - if they're able to get past once they get the smoke down, she is going to try to make it harder to be pursued. ]
By which I mean Hans is going to start this operation with a meeeow and a smoke pellet lob -- which, unfortunately, clips a ceiling light and lands right in front of them. This is going well! Fumbling in general means he also sliiiides down from the ceiling to a wall, but he doesn't stop moving -- he's apparently vanguarding this, because why not.
Plan C means he might be seen, but he has enough rope that he'll go for using it to lasso anything within reach -- ideally, that would be any picture frames on the wall, but he'll also go for the shot glasses or a chair or something -- and sling it directly at roughly face-level of whoever's coming.
If smoke ain't doing it, try literally anything else so he can get past.]
The smoke pellet obscures everybody's vision. Nobody here got a look at these faces, the group is currently inhaling smoke and coughing from it, and the chair is currently being thrown at these people. The chair hits the target despite everything, but the other person triggers an alarm.
Sirens begin. There's several more footsteps approaching in a hurry. ]
well you know what, this is actually better because he sort of works best under chaos so! there is smoke obscuring everyone's vision but he's quickly moving to try and run through it and relying mostly on what he's able to hear to clear a path for himself and whisper on the ground.
you know what he doesn't actually need. this fucking pair of pliers as per the roll of 1. so he's going to take them and chuck them against a nearby wall with a roll of 10. he's mostly hoping the sound distracts whoever's rushing at them to throw them off and rush behind them.
he then does the same with the scissors, tossing them in a separate direction away from himself and whisper with a 13.
when in doubt though, he will also throw another smoke pellet if anyone gets too close, expecting whisper to take care of herself. ]
