[ though he doesn't join the others in dropping down, temenos offers his arm, if patamon would like to fly up and join him? height advantage. (he's 5'7) height advantage. ]
And one I'd thought you might have the answer to, should you all sound as much that you were waiting for us. But such is not the case.
[ Gabumon returns the fist bump, being very careful about their claws. They seem puzzled by the question. "We just... felt you needed assistance. So we came as fast as we could."
Loppy will take that hug, but they are SO LITTLE compared to how wide Vane is. "You don't need to worry about me, Vane. I'm very strong." They're resolute in their answer, but they're also enjoying the hug.
They fly up and perch onto Temenos's arm. They're not all that heavy, at least. "We came from here. This is our home. We don't see a lot of humans." ]
... Alright! [ there have been weirder things around here, sure. why not. creatures who could feel them. though he's pointedly ignoring the "feel them needing assistance" part because they were doing fine. rude. ] Well, thanks for the help. If you guys know where we are, you got any idea how we can get back?
[ Perhaps they meant Temenos specifically required assistance. It's hard to say. Moving on.
"Which way is back for you?" asks Gabumon.
"The Gotsumon aren't what bring humans here, but I don't know what does." Lopmon's ears fall down, disappointed that they can't be of more assistance.
"We're here to help you. It might be better if we found shelter first. Something else might come while we're out here." Patamon gestures in a direction, suggesting that there's somewhere better to talk nearby. ]
Which way is back is a ... great question. [ welp. ] Well... guess we're all fine clearing out for now?
[ looking at the other two like "I GUESS?" they were planning to earlier anyway. he'll stand back up and start walking before directions are even given ]
[ Gabumon gives a little nod of their head and starts heading in the direction directly away from the shrine. Patamon will fly off slightly ahead, as a scout, and Lopmon is still being hugged.
Eventually they'll be led to an old school. It looks like this has also been abandoned for years on the outside. This door looks like its in considerably better shape than the one in the shrine. The windows are cracked, but not entirely broken down. Unlike the shrine, this building is nearly overtaken with plant life.
The door opens easily enough, and there's running water in the building. Inside, the place is strangely empty of dust.
Patamon, "Right here. You'll be safe in this building."
Gabumon, "And then we can talk about how to get you back." Though it seems like they're still unsure of which way back actually is.
Lopmon, "Did you do anything before you arrived?" ]
[ kind of looks at vane like ? at the blush but ok here we goooooo to an abandoned school in a forest. ace hasn't been to enough schools to know if this is a weird place to put one. once they're in he'll explore a little to try to see if there's anything hiding in desks or something because he's a scavenger sorry but he can double task ]
Not a bad spot for shelter. [ better than the shitty shrine. ] Uh... I was just walking around in the city. Tem, Vane, you guys do anything out of the ordinary?
[ he sounds like he does not think that's likely. ]
[ in we go. temenos takes the time to examine the dilapidated building, because he is A Nerd: noting its structure, the lack of dust, before he returns back to their companions, hand to his chin and looking very thoughtful. ]
I was just going over my notes.
[ because it's about to be ~*the weekend*~ but he'll come back to the group when he finishes peeking down the halls. ]
Is this place typically occupied? It's quite clean.
[ Their little buddies will follow them around as they explore. There's a room on the second story that's locked, but maybe that's due to the building not really getting repaired.
Since Ace is looking around the desks he manages to find a cloth scrap and an empty glass bottle.
The water is drinkable! Weird.
It's a very standard wooden school house. The architecture seems a to lean more Japanese than anything they've seen in Oceanside.
Patamon tilts their head. "I've never seen anybody who lives here when I visit." ]
anyway temenos has the exact same thought about sneaking around and is about to say something about the door when ace just goes for it? he just like, steps back expecting him to kick the door open. thank you sir. ]
Put your back into it. [ wow. to patamon: ] Well. Do you often run into creatures with such odd auras like those back there? You all handled it well.
[ Have you seen any cleaning products in this weird school? There's none of them. There's nothing on the cloth scrap, but the glass bottle looks an alcohol burner.
He can go into lockers. He finds one rib. How long has that been there? Is it still edible? Hard to say.
With a roll of 8, Ace kicks and bounces off of the door. Try again?
Loppy is still being held, so they're able to answer. "It's very rare. If we see humans, they're usually much smaller than you."
Patamon frowns, "There's more of them now, but they usually in other places." ]
[ Ace, don't eat that. Gabumon is looking at the rib with interest. Maybe it's food for these critters?
The next kick gets the door to snap open. Beware of splinters. On the other side of the door is a music room. There's a very dusty piano here, and some posters that are illegible. There are a few books here, but they're also dusty. A look through them will reveal sheet music, but any other writing is in a weird alphabet.
"Yes...?" Loppy replies with a tone that says they don't exactly know what the difference between a kid and an adult is. When all you have seen is children and only extremely rarely, you really don't know what a kid is.

We're great! Nice job out there. How'd you know we were here anyway?
no subject
Yeah, you sure did! [ he'll open his arms up come give daddy a hug ] I'll be sure to return the favor, though, and that's a promise.
Where'd you guys even come from?

We gonna have to beat up some more little rock things to get outta here?

[ he's pretty sure we're all peoples here. he scratches patamon lightly under the chin? scritch scritch. ]
Ace is correct. We would need to get back. Unless, I suppose, we've been drawn here to help you with something.

Walking sounds like a great idea. ]
It'd be real nice if we can find some weapons or something, though... My hand still kinda hurts.
no subject
temenos gives a nod, though. ]
As Ace said, let's travel on. [ no more rocks ] We're at your beck and call, for the moment, little lambs.

Once entering the school he’ll check on the faucet water. Is it clean? If he takes a little sippy is it… drinkable?
Speaking of doing anything out of the ordinary — ]
Not really. Was gonna ask the kids if they wanted to have a game night, but that’s it.

also can he attempt to kick the second story door open. he's just nosy ]

So is this area where you guys grew up? How often do you see humans — if at all, I mean.

Smaller? We're not that tall to begin with.
[ no that's just one piece heights ace ]
no subject
Don’t eat it? You’re gonna get yourself sick, dumbie.
[ Smaller humans — ]
Kids?
no subject
anyway. he nods along to vane at that - kids - and glances up at patamon. ]
... What are they, if they've increased? It doesn't seem to bode well.

[ ace forgot children exist. anyway oh if gabumon finds it interesting. he hands over the rib. here you go buddy!!!
waltzes into the piano room the only room with dust and goes to look at the dusty sheet music. ah, yes. he can't read this. ]
