[Welcome to the second floor. It is just as horrifying as the third.
When the elevator doors open, the gang will find themselves in a eerily silent hallway. There are two vending machines and a bench between the doors for 2-1 and 2-2. A few scattered pieces of... something... lay on the ground near 2-3. Something is sticking out of that door, but they can't tell what from here.
There's no gate blocking the way on this floor.
The teen presses a finger to their mouth, shhh, and moves to stand with one foot between the elevator doors.]
[ jolyne nods at their teen when she sees them stand between the doors... that's so smart. keep anyone from coming up or down. she'll step forward first to move silently into the hallway first without a word... can she have a look at what the pieces on the ground might be? ]
[ rita's mouth hangs open, clearly about to ask some follow-up questions... but the elevator doors open, and it's time to focus again.
the teen is helpfully keeping that door open for them, so she's also stepping out into the hall. do any of these doors have windows that can be seen through, or labels on or near them?
... she'll stop to also see what's on the floor here. what's sticking out of the 2-3 door? ]
[Well, pieces might be inaccurate, actually. But it's hard to tell what is what when everything is made out of gore. Approaching the things on the ground, Jolyne will find some sheets of flesh-like paper.
No labels on the doors, besides their room numbers. There are no windows on 2-1 and 2-2, but there's one on 2-3's door. The door is slightly ajar, propped open by a filthy, putrid smelling bundle of cloth on the ground.
No one hiding under the bench. But a half empty bottle of Peepsi has somehow made its way under the bench, a third of its contents all over the floor. Datz's bare feet are now sticky.]
[ o-oh... flesh-like paper. hm. bad. dislike. she will try to pick one up anyways without hesitating, feeling like they only have so much time. she's so hungry she doesn't even feel like barfing anymore, it's just a slow-rolling nausea that has nothing to give into. is there anything at all on the paper? any pictures? words she can recognize even a little?
[ rita will... try to push the door open by nudging it with her foot and then leaning an elbow on it. her hands are full with her own bundle of cloth (and the gun).
[ hm. gross. the pee(psi) feet curse expands. there's nothing notable about this bottle, right? anything to see in the vending machines or is it the same nasty snacks that they had on the floor above? ]
[Just two or three sheets of paper, spaced apart like maybe someone dropped them accidentally but didn't come back for them. Jolyne can see pictures and text on the pages, but it's incredibly difficult to make heads or tails of them.
Pushing the door the rest of the way open, Rita will find that the lights are already on inside the room. It's a large, spacious room with several compartments on the walls. Freezing cold air wafts out of the room, chilling her to the bone. Going by the shape of them alone, there are three tables with wheels in the middle of the room.
Towards the left, there's something like an office set up with counters, cabinets, a computer and another ergonomic desk chair. To the right, there are several shelves stocked with glass jars. The jars are filled with something.
There is nothing notable about the Peepsi. The vending machine carries more of the same grotesque items as the floor above them.]
she will take the weird sheets of flesh and just. hold onto them now. she'll perk up and look to see if there are any windows on 2-1 or 2-2 that she can peek through? ]
[ rita winces at the cold. it's a good thing she's not in the hospital gown anymore, at least.
she'll go over to take a look at the jars, walking cautiously as she enters, looking around in case there's someone here that she hasn't noticed yet. why was the light on? (maybe quynn took mercy on us forgetting light switches all the time.)
what can she make out from the look of these jars? ]
[ if there's nothing else to see out here in the hall itself i guess datz will glance over at the teen in the elevator (you still good over there?) and then follow jolyne in checking out the other doors. is 2-2 locked if he tries to open it? ]
There is no one in 2-3 besides Rita. While the jar themselves have the same aesthetic as the rest of the meat dimension, the contents don't look half bad. They're similar to jams and canned fruit in appearance.
[ that's fine, he's participated in two murders today and feels like trash, he's kind of past being super cautious right now. he'll flip the lights on if he can find a switch on the gross flesh wall. what have we got in here. ]
[2-1 is unlocked! Jolyne may open the door, no problem. But it's dark.
The contents of the jar smell delightfully sweet. Fresh. Way better than anything else Rita has smelled since she woke up here.
Datz turns on the lights! 2-2 seems to be another room identical in layout to the room they woke up in initially. The curtains are drawn over the three beds.]
[ can she feel any kind of light switch to the sides of the door? she will stick a hand in and kind of feel along the wall for the light switch nubbin. ]
[ it's suspicious for something this sweet to be surrounded by flesh and rot and filth. rita should question it. she does question it.
but she's been fighting to stay on her feet, to keep the darkening edges of her vision from growing until she blacks out, to keep the dryness in her mouth and the pangs in her stomach from distracting her from escaping this place.
she sticks her hand in, takes some of the mystery substance out, and tastes it. ]
[Jolyne finds the light switch right next to the door. Once she turns on the lights, she'll find that it's another room identical to the one they first woke up in. The curtains are only partially drawn, allowing her to catch a glimpse of the EKG machines in the room.
Rita tastes the mystery substance to discover that it's just as good as it smells. It's the best damn thing she's tasted in a while, it feels like.
Datz takes a look behind the first curtain, but finds nothing out of place. Just another meat mattress on a bone bed.]
[ oh well. okay she will open the door further if nothing is stirring inside? is there any noise from the ekg machines at all? or any sounds in general? ]
[ cool. moving on to the second curtain as i just keep using the same icon until i can bring myself to disturb my cat to go get my card and renew my paid... anything behind this one? ]
