[ that's fair. he's used to a little cat curling up on him at all times, so when he does sit and is attacked by affectionate babies he is allowing this and petting them.]
Ah. A cacodemon...they came with me from home, so I've been taking care of them since we've been here.
Sure. [ it's complicated and he doesn't think of explaining it.] And they love Will so that makes it a lot easier to have both of them around, too.
[ sometimes you just want to make sure your children love their stepdad. anyway, tiger sits down and nico's busy balancing the cats as he thinks of how to begin. ]
So...what gave you the idea that this thing could possibly work anyway?
[Ah. It's time, isn't it? They take in a slow breath, and then they sigh.]
I've seen several of these pages, they're made of the same kind of paper. But they probably didn't come from one huge sheet of paper, not if they were written on. You can tell by how the paragraphs are formed, the pieces of paper all come from sheets of paper the same size. So, what would they have been contained in?
[It's a leading question. Tiger's logic is that if they lead Nico towards what they are thinking, then it's not the same as them stating it outright.]
A book, right. We've heard about the book before but I'm going to present the same question I'd asked Phoenix, too. Why can't we just burn the pages or rip them up or something to destroy them and break the power of the words? Is that a possibility?
Unless you're suggesting these are from a different book entirely.
No, I think they are likely from the same book. And if you think about it, they were already 'destroyed' in a sense. They were ripped out of the book, so wouldn't that be enough to break the power of the words?
If my theory is correct? It's because it's already happened. Whatever was written already came to be, so ripping it up or burning it won't change anything.
Some of us have thought this as well. Which makes it really frustrating that we can't erase the past but can't predict the future either. [ but... ] The pages were written a while ago, and now they're coming true now that we're here.
What's the likelihood there're still new pages being written versus pages that're already written and ready to come true?
We only have a few weeks until the full moon. So...we should probably start looking harder. Those adventures can't be the only way to find pages, can they?
Right, thanks. We're still searching, too. [ ...but he decides to bring this up, again. ]
If I could communicate with our dead, maybe they'd know. I've been thinking about workarounds of how to summon them or ask questions besides what I suspect is through the newspaper. Since the halloween store just opened I'm almost willing to downgrade myself to using a ouija board.
I'm not writing a stupid letter that might not get answered, Tiger. We're already seen that doesn't work effectively because their answers get cut off. Plus it looks like they can only answer a few things at a time, and they're only published in the Monday and Friday editions of the paper. That's why I want to find something more concrete.
It looks like they can do more than just answer questions though. They made a couple comic strips too. And did you find all the secret answers on that crossword puzzle?
Yes, and yes. I know you weren't there Saturday but a lot of people were discussing the crossword puzzle and pointed out the answers. And the comic strips are basically saying the same thing as the puzzles, which are kind of saying the same thing as the letters we're finding. So that's where I'm at with this. Even if they don't actually have any idea more than we do, we can't even confirm it because what they are able to tell us is the same information we already have. That's why I want to try and find a way to talk to them myself, so we can be sure we're all on the same page and they know what to look for and maybe we can springboard ideas off of each other.
It's my last resort, but yeah. Normally at home I can summon in other ways...an offering and the ancient chants to establish the connection and give ghosts a line of communication so they could accept the offering and solidify to speak to me. Its's part of my powers.
With a ouija board, from what I understand, it's a board and you have to be connected with the planchette. Keep your hands on it, and don't move it. It's a different means of channeling, you can say an incantation to open a line of communication and then spirits can control the planchette while you ask questions. For a lot of people it's just a stupid game and I don't think it'd be as effective as what I can usually do, but...it might at least help. I want to try to talk to all of them who're gone. If we can really bring them back somehow, they should know so we can work together.
I'm going to try it at least. [ whether it works or not, he's making the attempt. ] There's information they need to know about how to get back, and about what's coming in the next few weeks. It could help them start to plan, too, for getting back to us.
You're right, it's worth a try. Given how many people are here, I wouldn't be surprised if someone can bring back the dead.
[Their gaze is a bit distant though, like they're remembering something. Which means it's going to show up in a thought bubble, because that's what this week is.
This is the only world where he lives and writes his stories...]
Yeah. Even if it's not by the means I'm used to, there has to be another way to do it. At least similarly.
[ but he gazes at that bubble...and he's not sure if he should acknowledge it, but the look on his face seems to indicate that he's seeing something he shouldn't. hello? ]

[Will is here too, but.
Tiger will go ahead and sit on the other couch then. They sit with a straight back, both feet on the floor, and their hands folded in their lap.]

If we aren't, we may need to find that book.

[They have had no luck so far though.]
I don't think the adventures are the only way though, no.
