[ yeah datz is immediately locking the door again as soon as they're all in, keeping his back up against the wall and his hands on the back of the chair; at least this way they'll get a few seconds of door opening noise as a heads-up so they can get into position. just listening very carefully to whatever's happening in the hallway while his eyes adjust to the dark. ]
[The door is locked! Somehow, the creatures roaming the hallway are blind and deaf and fail to notice the sound of the door sliding shut. Good for you! The chair is more powerful than villain bot.
The little light filtering through the windows lets them see that the room is significantly larger than 3-1 and 3-4, but little else. The teen lightly elbows Rita and gestures to a corner of the room between the two doors, motioning for them to duck down — a blind spot.
They can hear the creatures moving outside. Their distress is blatantly apparent in the tone of their voice as they, presumably, check on the body left in the hallway. Then one of them begins to move around.
They move down the hallway, past 3-3 and the nurse's station, and to the room the group initially woke up in. Their muffled voice is barely audible, but Datz, Rita and Jolyne can still catch snippets of a conversation while the creatures move around.]
[Someone approaches the door that connects to the hallway, pressing their grotesque face against the window. The doorknob rattles but it is still locked.]
[ well. jolyne is just getting ready to stab honestly. she looks over and is gonna hand rita the stapler once they're in because she honestly would rather she have something to throw. or like staple someone's face with. but also she's crouched and listening closely, her brow furrowed and her letter opener... shiv-like. criminal.
she does her best to stay out of sight, though, kind of hoping they're. give up? haha. she's really at her limit!!!! with these adventures!!!! especially something that's already really trying to push them right off the bat.
holding her breath, she's just going to keep an eye on datz so she can move if he brings his battering chair back around. she's really just out here mouthing silently 'go away go away go away...' ]
[ rita now has a stapler and a set of horrible tooth-keys. she follows the teen's gesture and crouches down with them in the blind spot. if it comes to a fight, jolyne and datz will lead the way, she figures. ]

Besides that, there are more desks and computers. A few counters with a sink. An island in the middle of the room with some jars filled with... something. The jars don't look half bad, actually.
But they can check that out later, if they have the time. The creature's mismatched brown and red eyes stare at Jolyne, frozen in place. It quivers. Its bulbous flesh jiggles with a consistency not unlike gelatin.
It does not scream.
But it begins to laugh and cry, hysterical. Something red trickles out from between its legs, splattering on the floor in a steady stream. The creature may have just... peed itself. Gross.
A horrible voice calls from outside, slowly coming closer:]
[ datz's voice is reassuring momentarily. it keeps her going. she keeps her hand as firm as she can on the letter opener, but the minute the creature just starts pissing, she just um.
she looks a little lost. and then, she whispers quickly... ]
You're not going to believe this, but everything looks like a nightmare right now. I'm sorry—
[ and she's taking this goop monster hostage now with her letter opener. just moves forward to wrap an arm around it with a grossed out face and clutches it tightly. it is peeing and laughing and crying hysterically, but... they don't... they don't have to kill it, right? it's... oh god she doesn't know what to do, she's just. she can still smell it. ]
But tell your friend out there to let us go and no one has to get hurt.
[ oh, man. datz doesn't really have a problem with terrorizing people a little when he has to, but he is not feeling great about this. he tentatively lowers the chair, exhaling. ]

[ he'll wait to see if it actually goes to its friend like they're instructing before he crosses in front of the door, but if it does, he'll hurry over to that supply closet to see what they've got. ]
[Jolyne rolls a 2 for her grapple, which is not great. But the good news is that the creature also rolls a 2. Given it's current state of mind, it is incredibly easy for Jolyne to wrap her arm around it. This close to the creature, her bare feet make contact with the hot puddle of bodily fluids pooling on the floor. It splashes onto her bare legs in sharp contrast to how horribly cold the rest of her body feels right now.
Judging by the flopping noises, the creature's friend is leaving room 3-4 (their start location) right now.
The teen watches, a thoughtful look on their face, before they nudge Rita with their elbow. They gesture at the door that leads to the nurse's desk, mouthing a follow me before they begin to turn in that direction. Unless Rita stops them, they will carefully open that door, quiet as a mouse.
Datz can hurry over to the supply closet if he likes. Jolyne is bodying the creature, in any case, so it's not like it can refuse her orders. Inside the supply closet, Datz will find tattered but relatively clean scrubs of varying sizes.
Now... as for the other creature.
With her hostage in tow, Jolyne will watch the other creature slow to a stop once it spots her with its buddy. Unfortunately, her hostage is currently too terrified to do anything except blubber and cry, which is kind of counterproductive! One of its hands is shoved in the pocket of its pants, while the other is slowly raised in the air.
It approaches Jolyne carefully, watching her with dark brown eyes.]
But with a roll of 12, it promptly pulls it hand out of its pants and tosses something at Jolyne's face. It's small, gritty and it burns when it makes contact with the open wounds in her arm. And then, faster than she can react, the creature punches her in the face.]
[ SHE HAS BEEN PUNCHED!!!!!! this is the worst day of her life. pee feet and just. everything. i think it's literally so much that when the punch hits her in the face she actually stumbles back and nearly drops to the gross gross ground. between the gnawing hunger from the very start, the pain in her arm (is it better? is it worse? is she just kind of numb to it now? the world may never know), she just growling, trying to kick the fuck away from this thing now. ]
I will make you regret that if I don't get answers. [ snarling now, but man she is really more bark than bite in this moment, she's trying to focus but it's very hard right now... it's so cold. ] What the hell are we here for!? Why did we wake up like this!?
[ rita takes a few careful, quiet steps back, then turns and follows the teen.
she whips her head around to look back when the other creature lashes out at jolyne. what the hell!! but she knows better than to go running back right now. silently, she forces herself to focus and heads out toward the nurse's desk. what's going on over here? ]
[ over at the supply closet, datz sets down the chair and grabs three sets of scrubs and one extra pair of pants. he quickly jumps into the biggest set (leaving the hospital gown behind), tucks the other two under his arm for later distribution, and stuffs the extra pair of pants half into the pocket of the creature that's being held hostage because it's clearly going to need them.
he looks back up at the second creature just in time to see it approach jolyne, and kind of freezes up for a few too-long seconds because there's an eerie familiarity in this thing's mannerisms that he really doesn't know what to make of.
but he has to shake himself out of it, because no matter who it reminds him of, he's not letting it get away with hurting jolyne either. he gets behind her to try to catch her when she stumbles back. (unfortunately the chair is out of reach at the moment.)
he glares at the figure in front of them too, though his mouth is feeling even dryer now and his head's kind of swimming. ]

The other creature is heavy and moist where it flops bonelessly on top of Jolyne. They are trapped in a horrifying meat dimension, with only a strange teen as their other human companion.
Speaking of, the teen waits until the creature is completely focused on Jolyne and Datz to quickly run across the hallway, glancing back to make sure Rita is following. They dart into the room Rita initially woke up in, and open the door that the gang ignored earlier. A bathroom, judging by the general shape of it.
The teen crouches under the sink, and starts fiddling with something down there.]
